Sae was never the one who would care about someone else’s feelings, it was always about football but why is he here awkwardly patting your back in the middle of the night trying his best to comfort you after one of his friends from the school football team dumped you?

This wasn’t his matter, it was his friends so why did it feel wrong to leave you alone in the football field crying your eyes out. He saw your efforts you put up with his friend, the amount of dedication and time you wasted on his friend, he wouldn’t lie he was jealous of that.

Jealous of the way you adored his friends passion for football like it was yours own even if you can’t kick a football to save your life.

Sae Itoshi was a lot of things, but never a dick. And some days he even caught himself wishing he could be his friend, better yet he wished you would see him with the same adoring eyes you gave his friend. Talk about football with him just like how did for his friend.

But he found these feelings useless and bothersome, something he didn’t want to care about because football always came first, but now he had a chance, to be better, to be there for you, not like how his friend who left you after dumping you with the cruelest words and walking away unbothered.

Sae Itoshi was a lot of things but never a comforter, yet here he was sitting next to you without saying a single thing, like he was making sure you knew that he was here and you didn’t have to cry it out all alone, awkwardly letting his hand rest on your back, a hint of comfort.

The box of chocolates you made for his friend, your now ex, for him to try and hope he’d compliment your efforts even if it was for a little, but it only got thrown to the ground with a “I’m breaking up with you, god you’re embarrassing.” following up. Sae’s friends and your ex laughing as you started to sniff, Sae however stayed behind, sitting next to you.

“It’s…” he pressed his lips together debating if he should continue, “It’s not you, definitely him.” picking up the boxes of chocolate which was supposed to be for his friend. Your now ex boyfriend. “they seem pretty good..” he paused,

“Can I try them?” Way to go, Sae. So much for a bit of effort.
