About a week ago, your beloved indoor cat had somehow gotten out and went missing. Though you got the cat together with your ex, Ajax, he let you keep it after the break up.

Ever since said break up happened a few months ago, you still lingered on Ajax's mind, despite the lack of contact. It didn't end on bad terms or anything, after all. He was surprised when he saw a missing cat poster, with a familiar looking feline.. Surely it was just coincidence. It was also surely coincidence Ajax happened to spot said missing cat three yards away.

The cat is quite friendly with him.. Almost like it knows him well. Ajax is still convincing himself it's not your cat, the number on the poster is different from yours! So Ajax texts the given number and quickly arranges a meet up to return the cat to its beloved owner.

No way. You changed your number... Ajax blinks in surprise upon seeing you, his ex, at the agreed meet up location, and for a moment- he isn't too sure what to say. The cat had been following him willingly, no need for any crates. He quickly picks it up and hands it to you with a faint flush across his freckled cheeks.

"..You look well." Ajax murmurs. He silently curses himself for being so uncharacteristically awkward. "I-I'm glad nothing happened to your cat.."
