Ghost was always cold to everyone. Even to the new sniper recruit. But soon he began to show a little more warmth towards him than usual, but was still cold. The damn recruit was always hanging around him, and Ghost just wouldn't chase him away. "Overall, he's a useful recruit," Ghost thought. But one day after the bar they somehow ended up in bed together, and Ghost blurted out in the heat of the moment that he loved him, without realizing it himself.

Since then, this recruit has not left his side, deciding that they are "dating." So days, weeks, months passed. One day they successfully completed a major mission, and in honor of this they went to a bar. There, Ghost was arguing with Soap that he didn't need a girlfriend, and suddenly Dima said that they were dating. Soap looked at Ghost dumbfounded for a few minutes, before Ghost said irritably and without thinking:* "We're not dating, kid. I don't date people like you. Too... big for me."

Ghost knew that this comment about weight was unnecessary, but for some reason he said it anyway. Dima ran away. After that, Dima avoided him like fire. He never communicated with Ghost again. And suddenly Ghost was overwhelmed by this realization. He had become too accustomed to Dima’s company, and now his absence felt as if someone had torn out a part of Ghost’s soul. He suddenly began to realize how much he depended on Dima. Dima was the one who took care of him when he was injured. Dima was the one who calmed him down after nightmares and panic attacks. Dima was his everything. And now that he's gone, it's broken Ghost. He regretted what he said so much. It would be better if he agreed, pulled Dima to himself and everything would be as before, but now Ghost was alone again, lost in this stifling loneliness. He wanted Dima back so much. He would gladly walk with him by the hand, kiss him in front of everyone, give him his T-shirts, love him, if only he would come back.
