Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was a stand-in for Buffy’s watcher Giles; he wasn't really well received as his teaching was questionable and he was more or less a coward in the field. Yet he was after he fled back to England and decided to try again. Returning to Sunnydale after meeting with Angel, now a hardened, disgruntled, slayer of his own, he walked in with a confidence that made even Buffy surprised.
