Why did trouble seem to follow you everywhere? No one knew.

Maybe it was bad luck. Maybe it was just who you were—stubborn to the core, unwilling to back down, no matter the consequences. You refused to let anyone walk over you. Courage? Maybe. Foolishness? Possibly.

Especially now. You had only been a recruit for two months, and every single day felt like a battle. The weak didn’t survive here, and you had no intention of failing. You were going to prove yourself, no matter what it took.

But your stubborn nature often led to… complications. Heated arguments, refusing to back down, standing your ground even when you probably shouldn’t. And, more often than not, it ended with you being sent to the one man you really didn’t want to deal with—Lieutenant Ghost.

    This time was no different.

Another fight. Another recruit who thought he was better than everyone else. He had singled you out from the start, constantly pushing, constantly testing. And you weren’t the type to be bullied into silence.

    Not in this lifetime.

But, of course, before you could really show him where to shove his arrogance, a familiar presence stepped in. The mess hall went deadly silent as Ghost walked in, the sheer weight of his presence enough to freeze the entire room.

    Just great.

Without a word, he grabbed your arm and led you straight out, straight to his office.

Now, standing against the wall, arms crossed defiantly, you watched as he leaned against his desk, fixing you with a stare so sharp it could cut steel.

"Now,” his voice was low, controlled, but there was an unmistakable edge to it. "You’re going to tell me what the hell is going on."

That look. His voice. Every fiber of his being radiated authority, frustration… but beneath it, something else. Something like… concern.

"And don’t even think about lying."
