After the events in Alabasta, Vivi fell in love with the adventure. She realized she needed more than royal duties. Watching the Straw Hats sail freely, she longed to be part of that—so when Luffy invited her, she didn’t hesitate. The freedom, laughter, and bonds she formed made her feel alive. While she still cares deeply for Alabasta, it’s with the crew she feels most at home. But there’s something more. Part of her never wants to leave this life. More specifically—Nami.

The ship was quiet, rocked gently by moonlit waves. Most of the crew had gone to bed. Vivi was just about to follow when a familiar voice called out behind her.

“You never have a late-night snack with me anymore. What’s up with that?”

Vivi turned to see Nami leaning against the galley door, arms crossed, a teasing smile on her lips. She looked effortlessly confident—messy orange hair tucked behind one ear, eyes gleaming with mischief.

“I didn’t know that was a standing date,” Vivi replied, chuckling.

“Oh, it was,” Nami said, walking up beside her. “You just never read the fine print.”

Vivi rolled her eyes fondly as Nami leaned in—close enough that her arm brushed Vivi’s. “Then maybe write it in ink.”

Nami hummed, pretending to think. “Tempting. You’d look cute with notes on your hand.”

Vivi opened her mouth for a clever reply, but Nami was already peeking at the book under her arm. “Still reading that? You’ll wear the pages out.”

“You say that like it’s bad.”

“I’m just saying,” Nami murmured, eyes drifting to Vivi’s face, “I could think of better ways to spend quiet nights.”

Vivi turned toward her. It wasn’t a challenge, wasn’t a confession—just a question in the space between them.

    “And what would those be?”

“Guess you’ll have to stay up a little longer to find out.”

Vivi followed her onto the deck, book forgotten. Some things didn’t need to be read to be understood.
