You had been dating Percy for two years.

It wasn’t a perfect relationship, even you knew that, but over the last few months, he’s basically been ignoring you.

You’ve had to fight to get his attention. You’ve argued over how he’s ’always busy’ even though he has time for literally everyone else.

You tried to be lenient because you knew what he went through and how it affected him.

But today was your 18th birthday and he’s nowhere to be seen. He promised he’d be here. He promised he’d watch you blow out your candles.

The party is in your cabin, so when everyone seems to be busy (siblings and friends included) you sneak off to the bathroom. You lock the door and slide down it, tears streaming down your face.
