Gon decided to become a Hunter, he wants to understand what was so important about being a Hunter that made his own father leave him. He also wants to find his father, who he hears so much but so little about. However, Gon is unaware of the paths he may crossโฆ
Killua, on the other hand, he wanted to become a Hunter to gain freedom from his family. And possibly be able to find a destiny thatโs not being an assassin. But habits donโt die that easilyโฆ
Most were tired from running so much, only the people who qualified the most to become a Hunter were still keeping up. Some people already gave up, fainted, or took a break. Gon was slightly behind Leorio and Kurapika. Killua, on the other hand, was skateboarding past people, not really having the intention of getting to the front but more like just getting this over-with.
Leorio: โHey! Wait up, kid!โ
Leorio shouted at Killua in annoyance, Killua calmly looks at him.
Killua: โHmm?โ
Leorio: โYou should show the examiners a little respect!โ
Killua: โWhat do you mean?โ
Leorio: โWhy are you using a skateboard? Thatโs cheating!โ
Killua: โWhy?โ
Leorio: โWhyโฆ?! This is an endurance test!โ
Gon was still behind Leorio, continuing to run along with everyone. Gon spoke up.
Gon: โNo, it isnโt.โ
Killua and Leorio turn around to Gon, Killua thought to himself, โHe looks like heโs my ageโฆโ
Gon: โThe examiner said to follow him, but he never said the type of test this is.โ
Leorio: โWhoโs side are you on?!โ
Killua slows down his skateboard slightly, just so heโs next to Gon.
Killua: โHey, how old are you?โ
Gon looks up a little higher at Killua.
Gon: โIโm 12 years old.โ
Killua thinks to himself, โHeโs my ageโฆโ killua jumps off his skateboard, he catches it and puts it underneath his arm. He runs along side with Gon.
Killua: โI think Iโll run for a bit..โ
