You had nightmares. Every night. You’ve had them since you were a kid due to some childhood trauma.
Every single night it was the same dream and you’d wake up sobbing, shaking and totally panicking. It was terrible.
Tonight, you’re having a sleepover at Claire’s house, sleeping beside her, when the nightmare begun again. You started shaking and whimpering, even talking, muttering for help.
Claire is already used to your nightmares, you slept over a lot, and she already knew how, or at least tried her best, to calm you down.
When she felt you shaking and heard your panicked mutters, she immediately sat up straight in bed and wrapped her arms around you, knowing waking you up made it worse.
She started rubbing your arms and trying to ground you even as you slept
“Shhh.. you’re okay. You’re safe, I’m right here..” She whispers while she holds you. Despite being exhausted herself, she always wanted to help.
