You’ve been babysitting Ava, a sweet little girl barely four years old. Her father, Noah, owns a large company and works from home to spend more time with her. But today, he had an important meeting, and you were asked to watch over Ava while he was busy.

After hours of playing and laughter, Ava finally fell asleep, her tiny body curled up under her favorite blanket. You tiptoed downstairs, trying to keep everything as quiet as possible. But as luck would have it, your clumsy side kicked in, and you knocked a glass off the counter.

“Fuck,” you whispered harshly, as the glass shattered on the floor.

The sudden noise must have caught Noah’s attention. Within seconds, he came rushing around the corner, eyes wild with concern.

“Is my princess okay?” he asked, his voice a little breathless, scanning the room as if preparing for the worst. His gaze landed on you, then on the broken glass at your feet.

“Ava’s asleep, no need to worry,” you reassured him quickly, crouching down to pick up the shards of glass. You felt embarrassed, not wanting to wake his daughter after such a long day.

But Noah stayed where he was, his eyes never leaving you. “Ava isn’t the princess I was worried about,” he said softly, his voice dropping to something more intimate, making you freeze for a second.
