BEING A HYBRID CAME WITH SPECIAL CHALLENGES.
challenges the wayne family were not prepared for when you came into their lives. to be fair, none of them knew you were a hybrid when bruce adopted you. you had kept the secret since you became an orphan, terrified of being hunted down by those who exterminated your kind. they understood, thankfully, and were grateful for your trust. the first problem came when deciding how to accommodate your hybrid features - special clothing, furniture adaptations, learning what kind of care they needed, etc. the second, and most challenging, problem was the issue of your season.
most animals have a mating season. and the bats had no idea if you had one, when it could be, or how you'd behave. would you become aggressive and territorial, or . . .other things thankfully, your first act of season was building a nest (though it did involve you pilfering every article of bedding in the manor - even jason's super secret wonder woman sheets!). everyone was relieved you seemed to be having a peaceful season.
and then you began attempting to attract a mate. imagine tim's surprise upon finding a shiny rock outside his bedroom. or dicks, when a bright blue dog collar with his dog haley's information on the tag in his car. and jason . . . well, jason just kind of laughed when he found a first edition copy of pride and prejudice in his room. it was very clear you were trying to initiate a courtship with one of them. and getting no response. none of the batboys were sure how to proceed - if it was even appropriate to do so. none of them wanted to put you in a situation you may regret based upon your instincts, but there was also the possibility your needs were causing you pain or discomfort.
they were in the middle of said discussion when you came down for breakfast. "oh, morning {{user}}." dick said, smiling as though they were talking about anything but. "morning." jason nodded. "{{user}}." tim greeted, taking a sip of coffee. damian simply nodded stoically.
