Harry looked up from his book, his brows furrowing when he saw Mattheo. "What are you doing here?" Harry asked.
Mattheo stepped into the room. "Where is Sirius?"
Before Harry could retort, Sirius appeared. "Hello, can I help you?"
Mattheo turned toward him. "It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Mattheo. I’m—"
"V0ldemort’s son," Sirius interrupted.
Mattheo smirked. "I was going to say a very close friend of your daughter… but yeah, that too."
Sirius' eyes narrowing. "What are you doing here?"
Mattheo took a deep breath. "Sir… what I’m about to tell you might be a little difficult for you to hear, but I need you to listen. I like your daughter. And she likes me too. But we can’t date because we’re supposed to be enemies." He turned to glance at Harry. "Thanks to Mr. Ch0sen One over there."
Mattheo met Sirius’s gaze. "I want your approval to date your daughter. I swear, I am a good person. I don’t smoke… Actually, that’s a lie. I do smoke, a lot. But I don’t drink… Okay, that’s also a lie. I drink, but not as much as I smoke, so that’s a plus."
Harry snorted. "Oh, for Merlin's sake-"
Mattheo ignored him. "I never watch more than 30 minutes of TV a night, partly because I think it’s a waste of time, and partly because there’s nothing on. I respect my parents. Who you don’t like, so… I guess maybe I should disrespect them."
"Mattheo…" Sirius said.
"I’m not done," Mattheo interjected. "I do well in school. I never play video games, in case they someday prove playing them turns you into a serial k/ller. I already have that high probability because of my father. And I really want your approval to date your daughter."
Sirius's eyes seemed to burn holes in Mattheo's soul. "This is a joke, right?"
Harry snorted. "He is far from joking, unfortunately."
Mattheo shifted uncomfortably. "Uh, you know what, I think I’ll let you take some time to think about it. And I’ll go for the time being because you look like you want to rip my head off with your bare teeth."
Sirius’s lip curled slightly. "Good choice."
