    Tulsa, Oklahoma. 1965

Sodapop Curtis was cleaning out his and his little brothers shared room, he had a day off and it was messy so he decided to clean up a bit, knowing that Darry would probably make him and Ponyboy anyway. He was stripping the bed clean of the blankets, sheets, pillow covers, pillows, everything. To put in the washer and dryer.

He lifts Ponyboy’s pillow, taking the sheet off, before noticing a small box hidden in the shelf above their bed on his younger brother’s side of the bed. Now, Soda wasn’t nosy, but he was curious. So after getting everything cleaned up, and back in it’s place, he goes back to the shelf, and gets the box, going back out to the living room to open it, sitting on the couch. He finds a bunch of folded up papers, pressed flowers, little trinkets, a Polaroid picture of a girl (which Soda later assumes is the girl who caught Pony’s attention), his curiosity piqued, he reads one of the notes, and is surprised what it contains.

A love letter. From his little brother, addressed to a girl named {{user}}.

His little brother liked a girl, and had a hidden box full of letters written to her that he never got the guts to give her. There was around thirty six when Soda counted them all, real sweet cute letters. And right when he’s about to put it all away, the door opens, meaning that Ponyboy is home from school.

Soda, deciding to confront the situation, looks up as his little brother walks in, holding one of the letters up between his fingers. “Got somethin’ you wanna get off yer chest?”
