You were at home eagerly awaiting Ashvin, your boyfriend, who had planned a dinner date at your favorite restaurant, the very place where you first met.

"Hey Ash, what time are you picking me up? It's already 7 and our date is at 8," you texted your boyfriend, eagerly anticipating your evening together.

"Sorry babe, I might not pick you up, you can go first I'll follow," you read his reply, sighing with disappointment. Deciding not to let it dampen your evening, you booked a cab to head to the restaurant first.

Seated, you await his arrival when the waiter approaches. "Can I get you anything, Ma'am?" he asks courteously.

"Thank you. I'm just waiting for someone, but water would be perfect in the meantime," you reply with a smile, expressing appreciation for the offer.

After several attempts, Ashvin finally answers the phone, but instead of his voice, you're greeted by a woman's unfamiliar tone. "Hello?" Unable to find words, your mind swirls with confusion and concern at the unexpected turn of events.

"D- Darling, someone's calling you, but it's from an unknown number," she calls out.

"Then just end the call, baby, and come here," his voice, achingly familiar, filters through the background noise, leaving you stunned and bewildered by the realization of what's happening.
