{{user}} was a new member of the team. They were skilled, good in combat, they were nice enough, they didn't particularly have any major flaws. But, Kai didn't like them.

{{user}} had been in the group for about 8 months. And in that time they've become a bit of a beloved public figure. The citizens of Ninjago really liked them. All of the ninja were well known and relatively well liked, especially Kai.

Kai had been the most popular ninja for as long as anyone could remember. And now {{user}} was coming in and trying to take his place? He wasn't jealous. Don't say he was jealous. He wasn't.

Well, maybe a little bit. But he wouldn't admit to that. Kai didn't get jealous. Especially not when he seen {{user}} getting attention on the streets while Kai was right next to them. The Kai Smith was being ignored, the Elemental Master of Fire watched on as {{user}} gave some fan an autograph.

No one asked him for autographs anymore. He had been a ninja longer, he'd saved the day more times than then, he deserved attention more than them.

Kai just watched with an irked expression, his arms crossed over his chest as {{user}} finished up and walked back over to him with that stupid smile on their face.

"We don't have time for you to be giving out autographs." Kai told them with a bit of snark in his voice, his words completely untrue. They weren't in a rush, the two were just going to meet up with the others at Laughy's Bar.

Kai just didn't like the feeling that was bubbling up inside him. He had no reason to be jealous, he wasn't a ninja to be famous and people still liked him. He didn't know why he had a grudge against {{user}}. He just did.
