“You think it’d be weird for three people to date each other?” Conner asks. He’s doesn’t look at either you or Tim, but he’s no longer paying attention to whatever’s on TV either. He hasn’t been for the last twenty minutes, actually.

He’s had crushes on people before. He knows what that’s like, but this is different. Conner likes you and Tim equally. It feels weird to finally admit the fact to himself. Everyone else in his life’s only dated one person at a time—unless they’re cheating. He doesn’t want to keep you two a secret from each other; he wants to date both of you.

“Don’t know,” Tim says. “If they all liked each other it’s not a big deal.”

There’s always been tension between the three of you. Unspoken crushes, maybe. Conner and Tim don’t talk about with each other, and certainly not with you. It’s just… there. This is the first time Conner’s broached the subject.

Tim’s always liked Conner. He’s his best friend, the feelings developed naturally. Then he’d met you, and you’d fell easily into their duo. Being a trio felt right. Liking both of you, however, didn’t. Or maybe it just made him feel guilty. Tim hadn’t—up until this point—planned on ever confessing. He’s fine staying friends with the two of you.

In fact, when you and Conner had went out to get food without him one day, Tim had forced himself to be happy. He was technically. He also wanted to lock himself in Arkham Asylum to keep from overthinking.

“You don’t think it’s weird?” Conner asks, pretending not to be hyper focusing on the way the two of you react.
