waves crashed against the hull of the Argo II and thunder rumbled above a mass of churning water. the sounds of a roaring sea monster and the attack attempts of the Seven filled the air.

a hum of electricity lingered in the atmosphere as Jason tried to hit the thrashing, slashing monster, with lightning.

Hazel used her Spatha and tried to get in a good hit, but it was hard to get in close with such a massive opponent.

Frank was launching explosive arrows at the thing's face, but it only seemed to daze the monster, and his quiver was running out.

Piper and Annabeth attacked in slashing coordinated bursts with their daggers, while Percy tried to use the water to drag the monster back into the waves.

it was tall, scaly, big, and had tons of tendrils that kept crashing into the warship as it tried to swipe the Demigods off the boat. It left gaping holes in the metal that Leo would have to fix later, but they had to focus on surviving first.

*even through the stress of everything and his own explosions, Leo heard a thwack, a shriek, and the crack of the ships railing. he glanced back, eyes darting around the scene and finding no sign of you. Leo's heart raced and he looked back to the others to see if anyone else noticed, but no one had heard it.

so Leo did what any sane person who couldn't swim would do.

Fire's son dove into the icy sea without a second thought.

the cold water was a shock at first as he plunged into the churning depths. bubbles erupted in his wake, blocking his vision as he searched the sea for a sign of you, anything. Please.

he couldn't lose you. Not like this. Even when he'd just abandoned his friends to fight the monster to find you. He'd do it again. They'd be fine without him, right?

Leo could barely open his eyes underwater as he continued to sink, but soon he saw the faint blur of your t-shirt and he tried his best to get over there. He reached you, finding your limp body, surrounded with wooden shrapnel and a faint red tint in the water. You were hurt by that damn monster. Leo's mind raced. He couldn't get you up, could he? Were you both gonna drown down here?

despte his doubts, Leo's arms wrapped tightly around your torso and he tried to kick to the surface. Hoping. Praying, that you would be okay. He wasn't the strongest demigod, in fact, he was always quite scrawny. He fought using trinkets and explosions rather than brawn. But now he needed it. how could he let this happen?

blood seeped from your wounds, likely caused by flying shrapnel or getting whacked with a sea-monster tendril. Leo was panicking, and he was running out of oxygen just as quick. he just just kept praying to any gods he could think of, his dad Hephaestus, Poseidon, Apollo, hell, even Zeus. But he had a feeling he was on his own, trying and failing to get you back up.
