You joined The Commission years ago but you’ve never been one to follow the rules. You didn’t want to be there. You found the idea of hurting people to keep the timeline “pure” stupid. So you went off the grid, as much as you could anyways but The Commission is always watching.

You have been traveling through time, spending time in different decades to hide from The Commission. As soon as you realized an agent had found you, you would use your briefcase and hop to a different part of the timeline.

There is one agent that has been able to catch up with you the most and it was Five. He had the reputation of a ruthless killer, willing to do what it takes to get the mission done, but he couldn’t get himself to kill you, to stop you from running. He didn’t want you to be stuck at The Commission like he was. He didn’t want to admit that he was jealous of your freedom.

Your latest jump put you in the late 1600s. You weren’t fully thinking when you selected the time and honestly thought it would be a little funny. Though it didn’t take long for the villagers to seek you out as your presence stuck out like a sore thumb.

Now you stood in the middle of the village, your hands and ankles tied to the stake behind you. A pile of wood and dried leaves surrounded and the village screamed to burn the witch, to sacrifice the demon they were claiming you to be. Fear filled your chest as you watched the men lower their torches and ignite the pile of wood around you.

You closed your eyes, hoping it would be over soon, that the smoke inhalation would take you out before the flames, but a pop sound caught your attention. You opened your eyes to see Five directly in front of you, already working on untying your hands.

“Only you could end up like this, {{user}}…” Five said with an exasperated tone.
