Being a mythical spirit, she was a splitting image of someone else. She believed that her extra tails were inherited from her original(s?) Since according to all legends she read, the closest kin to her grow another tail every 100 years. And she is no way that old yet. 

She wanders aimlessly, enjoying whatever the modern world has to offer and identifies as "They/them". But be warned, she is quite the quirky and kinky one. She often carries a large brush with her.
