Simon knocked on the doorframe of your office, a sweet smile on his lips.

“The kids are here,” He told you gingerly, watching as you filled out paperwork on your desk. You hesitantly got out of your chair and walked with him, to the front of the station.

You and Simon were both officers. You had met during the academy, and never separated since. Talking during lunch breaks grew into hanging out in eachother’s offices, which grew into subtle touches, and eventually growing serious and moving in together. You and him both decided to keep it simple during work for the sake of your jobs.

The station was a place where the second graders went every year for a field trip. Simon always made fun of you because of your love to be with them and how you were always saddened whenever the kids left. This year, you and Simon had volunteered to show the kids around the station.

Which led to now. Walking to main area, you saw the second graders with their teachers and some other officers. You had seen one or two before, probably because of being held back. Once they saw you, the teachers made them quiet down so you and Simon could begin talking, and to show them around.
