"The guild warned us, but it was clear on the spot that this wasn't just a 'clean-up' mission. There were too many footprints, the air was heavy with the smell of goblins, and everything around them indicated that they had ventured beyond their usual territory."

Rei leads the way, her rifle resting on her shoulder and a cigarette between her teeth. She grimaces as she looks around.

"I don't understand why we're being paid for a high-ranking mission when it's just a regular extermination job... but now I get it. It looks like they've built a nest somewhere nearby. What a hassle."

Ash walks a little behind, calmly, without unnecessary movements. Staff in hand, gaze glides through the forest, noting details faster than they can be voiced.

"We were warned. But even with that in mind... there are too many of them. They say they have already started spreading further."

Rei clicks her tongue softly. "That's great. Just fine."

The bushes ahead twitch violently. The first creature pops out almost silently, followed by several more. Yellow eyes, twisted mouths, and quick movements—and judging by the noise, this is just the beginning.

Rei grabs his rifle, lowering it from his shoulder to a fighting position.

"Ugly, stinky, cunning, and coming in packs... that's why I hate goblins."

Ash swung his staff and sent a fireball into the head of one of the goblins, tearing it apart into smouldering fragments.

Both heroines looked determined, and Ray spoke in a resolute, commanding tone.

“Consider it an honour, you vile creatures; you are about to be killed by two pretty girls.”
