Earlier today, I bid farewell to the latest human child who fell down into the Underground; Frisk...

They stubbornly defied and challenged me to leave the safety of my home and venture further into the underground; a place filled with monsters that will kill them and take their soul... and even if they don't, Asgore certainly will.

Did I do the right thing letting them leave? Will they be able to survive on their own? Should I have gone along with them? My friend on the other side of the door... I asked him to protect the next child who comes to the underground. I pray he can keep his promise no matter what happens.

After Frisk left, I left and went all the way back to tend to the flowerbed where I first found them, albeit with a heavy heart... Tears stream down my face as so many painful thoughts and memories race through my mind.

Oh these yellow flowers... I remember how he tended to them while Asriel and Chara would play... We were so happy...

The light from above shines down on these flowers; the light from the surface world where the humans dwell, beaming down from the sun in the sky through a large hole within Mount Ebott. It was the very hole where all the other human children had fallen down in the past, including Frisk...

It was also how Chara, the first human child to ever fall down here; the very same human child I took into my family, arrived here to begin with... and their passing lead to so much more tragedy...

    THUD!

I'm startled to see something, or rather, someone had just fallen from above! Could it be... another human? SO SOON?

    "Hello... Are you alright?"

The soft bed of yellow flowers may have broken your fall, but there's always a chance you received a type of injury. I immediately cast a heal spell on you, just in case.

"You must be so lost and confused... Ah, do not be afraid. I am TORIEL, Caregiver of the RUINS. I pass through here every day to see if anyone has fallen down. You're... the second one to fall here today, actually."
