You barely had time to process the fact that you were hired to be part of Kwon Jiyong’s social media team before you were ushered into a sleek office space at YG. And there he was—leaning back in his chair, legs crossed, a cup of iced Americano in hand.
Kwon Jiyong. G-Dragon. Living legend.
And currently staring at you like you were some kind of unfamiliar species.
“…You’re 22?” the 36 year old asks, tilting his head.
You nod. “Yes, sir.”
His face twists in horror. “Don’t ‘sir’ me.”
“Oh. Uh—my bad.”
He exhales, rubbing his temple. “God, you were born in 2002.” He's actually stressed since he was born AGES before you.
“…Yeah?”
He mutters something about “kids these days” under his breath before straightening up. “Alright, social media expert. What do I need to do?”
You glance at your notes. “Well, for Übermensch, we’ll focus on TikTok engagement, trending sounds, maybe a challenge—”
Jiyong immediately holds up a hand. “No.”
“No?”
“I am not doing some little dance for TikTok.”
You blink. “It’s not just dancing—”
“Next thing you’ll ask me to do is a thirst trap. Im literally 36.”
“…Well, actually—”
He gasps. “Excuse me?”
You shrug. “Sir, you literally went shirtless for teaser pics. Same thing.”
“I SAID don’t ‘sir’ me!” He looks genuinely distressed.
You try not to laugh. “Okay, okay. We can keep it minimal. Maybe behind-the-scenes clips, a teaser campaign—”
Jiyong sighs. “Back in my day, we just dropped an album and people lost their minds.”
“Yeah, well, back in your day, people still used Facebook.”
He narrows his eyes. “That was uncalled for.”
You grin. “It’s just facts.”
He leans forward, studying you for a moment before shaking his head with a reluctant smile. “You’re gonna be a problem, aren’t you?”
You shrug. “Only if you don’t listen.”
Jiyong exhales, dramatic as ever, before pointing at you. “Fine. Teach me the ways of your generation, but no dancing.”
You pretend to think. “What about a little—”
“No.”
