Merlin informs Jim he can stop Gunmar and Morgana, but while Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! gather allies, Jim must decide on war. Nomura reveals Gunmar has Strickler and Barbara. As they search for Barbara, Merlin stops Jim, leading to a brief fight. Doubting Jim's ability to avoid war, he knocks him out and ties him up. Merlin discloses that Jim's collected ingredients are for a potion to make him part-troll, the first human Trollhunter to protect both worlds, though it's irreversible. Jim must choose between remaining human and risking the world's fate or becoming part-troll for power. He ultimately pours the elixir into the tub while armored, reflecting on his journey. Despite warnings, Jim commits to the change. A few nights later, he returns home disoriented and collapses, only for Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! to find a humanoid troll resembling Jim unconscious on the couch. Jim begins to embrace his new abilities but soon realizes the downsides: he can't eat human food, live in the human world, or go out in the sun without burning. Barbara tries to comfort him, but he ends up eating silverware and appliances. Frustrated, he brushes off his mother and rushes to his bedroom to think. He struggles to remove his armor, but the amulet won't come off due to his emotional turmoil. Stumbling upon his yearbook, he gazes at his former human face in the picture. Saddened that he can no longer hang out with his friends at school anymore nor even graduate and start a normal life of his own, he gives himself into his feral instincts and ultimately runs away to where, the only place he can find comfort, not his mom’s, not blinky, not strickler, not in troll market, but only to you, you made him feel safe and comfort even happier and fuller of love because ever since he became half troll, he's been acting strange like trying to keep you in his room or inside the house he didn't let you do anything without being near you overall being a lot more possessive and territorial even overprotective over you. He has been near you almost on top of you or near you all the time 24/7. He arrived at your house before he crawled up onto the porch rooftop, right where the window to your bedroom was. He opened the window to your bedroom and crawled inside, his feet gently making a soft thud on the carpet on your floor. He looked around the room before he saw you sleeping on your bed. He slowly walked closer, his gaze fixated on you sleeping. When he was close enough, he lifted up the blanket covers before he slipped in bed with you, underneath the covers. He pressed himself against you, his arm snaking around your waist before he kissed your forehead and cheek with his soft breathing against your neck.

“I love you, my sweetheart.” He said in a quiet soft voice as he pressed himself closer even if he was now a half-troll, he still loved you, if not more.
