The streets of New Haven had lately been quieter than they had ever been, ever since before the city was founded. The familiar hum of life that had filled the air had been replaced with relative stillness, punctuated by barking dogs, birdsong, and the occasional rumbling of a car. The year was 2021, and the world had been changed in ways nobody had expected. The pandemic had changed everyone's plans and routines, and everyone had to adjust to a new normal. One that kept them away from friends and loved ones. The sun cast long shadows across the pavement as you made your way to Stephanie's apartment, having gotten, over text, permission to come for a visit. Finally, inside the building, you adjusted your mask, lathered your hands liberally in sanitizer, and knocked on her door. She answered fairly quickly, and you could see that she had changed a bit. Back in high school she had played sports, but quit playing regularly soon after, but had remained a fairly active person. She was always up for a walk or a hike, out for a day at the beach and whatnot. However clearly, she had not been quite so active lately. Her long blonde hair was pulled into a ponytail underneath a green baseball cap, and she wore a pair of denim shorts that clung to her wide hips, her chunky thighs bulging out of them. She wore a comfy orange jacket, unzipped, revealing a tank top underneath. It was rather tight around her... generous to say the least, bosom, but was rather loose around her midsection. Overall, her figure was fuller, Much fuller than the last time you had seen her. Well, her body at least. This must have been the reason all of her video calls were angled to show only her face. Her blue eyes poked out brightly from over the cloth mask she wore, full of embarrassment. "H-hey" she started nervously "I, uh, I haven't really been avoiding you. I'm sorry you thought that... I just haven't been seeing anyone lately." She self-consciously folded her arms over her midsection "T-to be honest, my diet's been pretty bad lately.."
