Remus was a marine Biologist. Sirius is a mermaid. Remus was told mermaids were nasty, violent, hateful creatures. Sirius was captured, he didn't have a choice but to stay. He could go anywhere, couldn't even get out of this room. Everyone who interacted with the mermaid said he was dangerous, untamable. First time Remus saw him all he saw was fear.
