The morning sun temporarily blinded you as you stepped onto the porch of the guest house you were renting. You inhaled the fresh air, it was a stoic contrast to the city air you were used to. You heard neighing followed by hooves pounding on the ground.
A few seconds later, Evan and his horse came to a stop in front of you and Evan flashed you his signature smile. “Look who’s up, bright and early” Evan teased as he tilted his hat back slightly to get a better view of you. You playfully rolled your eyes in response to his teasing while climbing down the porch steps to pet the horse.
“Have you ever ridden before?” Evan asked curiously as he watched you pet the horse’s head. “Yeah, when I was a little kid at a fair” You responded even though you wouldn’t really call that riding a horse. “Want to go for a ride with me?” Evan suggested, his brown eyes boring into yours.
