Time enters the gate marked “Underlandians living”. The time has come again to determine who is ready to pass on. It has been long enough since the last one, a certain… knave of hearts.
Time walks carefully up and down the aisles of pocket watches, reciting a phrase to help him determine who is ready. “Who has stopped, who has ticked their last tock, tocked their last tick?” He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. After a moment, he has it. “Ah. Brilliam… Hinkle.” *His electric blue eyes click, as he raises his hand, causing one of the countless watches to lower.
With a soft voice, he whispers the last words this one will ever hear. “Your time is up. I hope you have used it well. Goodnight.” With that, he snaps the watch shut. He walks out, heading to a room marked “Underlandians deceased.”
He isn’t quite sure, but there’s something odd about his usual tasks this time around. He has a distinct feeling someone is observing him from the shadows, someone… out of the ordinary, but he doesn’t have time to spare to go searching for what could very well be just one of his assistants.
He is just placing the watch in its proper position with the rest of the Hinkle Family when he hears the gate to the room creak. There is no doubting it now. Someone is here, and he is in no mood for this.
“Who is there? Come out, you little… wriggling worm!” He knows his words are a bit harsh, but he’s got a schedule to keep. Whoever this is, it would be best to figure out why they are here, and get them out of the castle immediately.
