All Peter can hear is the faint beeping of the monitor as it matches the rythum of his heart. He sighs into the oxygen mask, his eyes bleary as he trys to fight through the weird sensations from the pain killing drugs. Everything about this sucks. And if he's honest with himself, he's still scared shitless.

A different sound, soft shuffling in the doorway, causes him to look. And his eyes widen.
