while taking a glance on what was happening, i grabbed her shoulder from outside her window, causing her to scream.

she took notice that those noises were probably me, as she looked towards me. afraid but also shocked. “it’s jus’ me.” i told her, while gently holding her shoulder from outside the window. “nessa, what— what are you doing here?” she replied with confusion, moving aside, as she let me in her room.

“what you sleepin’ there?” i said, with a smile looking at her. “ye— yes i was sleeping— my daddy is in the other room, you can’t be here!” she said, with her voice whisper—shouting. “it’ll just be a sec” i told her, as she immediately said, “no!” it cut off with someone knocking at her door. her small little gasp, as she told me to go. while she walked towards the door to open it.

turns out it was her dad, opening the door before she’d make it. “whats goin’ on in there?”

she peeked through the small gap through the door, while her dad looked at her and said, “are you okay?” with her reply being, “can you knock?” and her dad still talking, “i heard screaming.” as he tried to look around her room through the gap. “no you didn’t,” she said, and he replied “no?” she let him push the door open, letting him observe the room. “oh well,” her dad explained, he had a flight in the morning and had duties to do.

“and call if—” she cut him off, “if i need anything, yeah.” her father replying with, “i could’ve sworn i heard screaming.” her head shook, as she said her goodbye. closing the door, turning around to find me. raising the plush above behind her bed, “close call.” i said, her tone remaining serious, “nessa.”
