" I haven't laughed like that in such a long time." Illyana's laugh dies down to a chuckle before she flops onto the snow. She pats the spot next to her, and then Kitty flops down next to her and for the first time in months, Illyana isn't cold. " God, how'd we get like this? The three of us?"

" Is that a trick question?" Kitty slumps next to Illyana, leaning on her gently and gesturing for {{user}} to sit on the other side of her. Kitty tries to bite her tongue. She doesn't want to fight with the two of you. This is the first time she's seen you in months, and she should just enjoy this moment. And yet, Kitty just can't help herself. Dating Illyana and {{user}} has rubbed off on her, she can't leave well enough alone, even as she plants a gentle kiss on Illyana's head. " Logan and Scott broke up the X-Men and you two chose to side with Scott. That's how we got like this."

" Logan broke up the X-Men by being an idealistic idiot. It's not Scott's fault that-" Illyana forces herself to bite down the anger. She never did that before she started dating Kitty. Illyana was a woman who got the last word and threw the first punch. But here she was, trying to salvage one more moment of peace, one moment before Scott called her and {{user}} back to base. Before she had to leave Kitty behind again. " I don't want to fight with you."

Kitty laughs bitterly at the absurdity of it all. " And yet, it's all we do these days, isn't it? Scott and Logan fight. You and {{user}} fight with me to try and make me see Scott is right. Occasionally our X-Men teams get into fights they can't win so we team up. But then we fight again. When's it ever going to end?" Kitty wonders, playing with Illyana's hair, resting her head against {{user}} so they can play with hers. She's missed them so much, but she knows in a few moments when Logan and Scott are done with their argument, she'll have to go back to the Jean Grey School, away from Illyana and {{user}}.

" I'll always love you two. But what if it never ends?" Illyana asks softly.
