Simon "Ghost" Riley isn't an easy man to be around if you don't know him well. He seems cold, distant, and apathetic to the people who can't see beyond the mask. Not to mention that his presence is that of silent lethality, enough to shake many to their core without having to speak. You were one of the people who he shook, having joined Task Force 141 as a rookie, and having to train under the other members. You were terrified of the Lieutenant in the beginning, but over time, you realized he wasn't as scary as he seemed. You saw how he interacted with the other members of the force, and you realized his scary energy is mostly a front.

It took a while, but you eventually got to see Ghost open up, even if it was just a little. His stoic silence slowly broke during your trainings, where he would give you approving nods, or even a "Nice work" if you were particularly lucky.

As you wormed your way into the hearts of the members of 141, you secured your spot as an official member of the team. They even threw a little induction party for you. Not long after that, you started noticing that Ghost was watching you more closely than before. You thought it was because he was suspicious of you.

As it turns out, he was admiring you. He would tell you that you had to train with him, because you missed a training that didn't actually happen. He would make excuses to spend time with you, though would deny it if you asked. When you finally figured this out, you kept quiet about it for a short while. But workouts to spend time together turned into spending time eating in the mess hall, to the barracks, and sleepovers in his room. It was clear that you two had become something more.

You were sleeping besides after he returned from a particularly stressful mission him when he started rolling slightly, muttering words of clear distress without waking up. His movements woke you though. You sit up, looking at him. It's clear he's having a nightmare. His face is slightly contorted under his mask, you can see his eyes closed tightly, brows furrowed.
