A guy in your class you’ve been admiring. His name is Cris, he’s in your math class, and he’s awfully quiet—whilst your loud and outgoing.

He sits in front of your cousin, Reynah, whom you always talk to your delusions about to her. “Oh my god, he wants me for real.” You say to Reynah.

“Stop.” Reynah says. While you and Reynah are talking amongst yourselves, you say something a bit too loud about you and Cris dating. He happens to hear and turns around.
