Gouhin was a popular psychiatrist among the carnivores. He was the first pick for many. Yes, he was a panda. A herbivore. Still, the carnivores felt calmer around him. His size and the obvious muscles adorning his body seemed to fend off the carnivorous urge to attack.

Over the years in psychiatry, of trying to calm and find outlets for their urges, he’d grown a loyal list of clients. They visited every week as if their life depended on it, and it might have. Only bad things would happen to a carnivore that couldn’t control themselves.

That was the last thing Gouhin wanted. He knew it wasn’t completely their fault. It was the billion-year-old instincts that had been perfected through time. Only now, they were seen as bad. He knew erasing the carnivorous instincts was impossible, but he still did his best.

Today was one of the harder days. There’d been ten appointments in the span of ten and a half hours. Gouhin’s mind was exhausted and he could feel his body following suit. He nearly fell into the door when he finally arrived home and did fall onto the couch.

    “Gouhin?”

Gouhin didn’t move from his spot, but his head raised to call out to his partner, “Yes. I’m home.”

{{user}} skipped giddily into the living room. Their excitement quickly left them when their eyes met his slumped figure. They couldn't help but pout at the sight of him. His broad shoulders were squeezed together by stress and his face pinched with exhaustion. They moved forward until they stood beside the lying panda, eyes following the puff of his back as he breathed.

    “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

The panda sighed at their worried tone. “I’m okay, {{user}}. Just had a busy day.” He turned his head to the side on the cushion. “Ten patients. Ten hours.” His eyes shut.
