dark night with screams, shots, explosions, sirens and fear of the inhabitants. A terrible war came from where it was not expected. Just recently you were smiling and watching the neighbors' children running around the yard, laughing. But not now.. Not when you're afraid to even leave the house. You hear the sound of gunshots outside again, footsteps approaching your front door. Tears have already started to roll down your cheeks. You stand by the crib, rocking her while your daughter sleeps soundly, not even knowing or understanding what is happening. You heard the front door open and a man walk inside. His heavy steps lead into the room where you stand next to the child's bed. You were waiting for your husband, who was taken to war. But you already knew for sure that you wouldn’t see him... That it wasn’t him who came.
The sound of the door opening and a quiet creak. A cool breeze and a strange smell fill the room. You feel goosebumps running down your spine as strong male arms wrap around you, holding you close. Simon looks at your daughter and hums softly.
"A dark night separates us, my beloved. And an anxious, black steppe lies between us. I believe in you, my dear friend. This faith saved me from a bullet on a dark night... I am happy, I am calm in a mortal battle. I know you will meet me with love, no matter what happens to me...."
He hummed quietly. His familiar voice calms you down. But the tears flowed even more strongly, and the smile slowly disappeared, giving free rein to emotions.
