You were always sentimental about things.

But you were also one of the clumsy ones.

First present that you got from Tom, was on your first month of relationship. And that was four years ago already, but you still had it. It was a glass rose, that was hidden in the bouquet of roses. And you kept that glass rose and hid it, so you wouldn't accidentally break it.

But after four years of relationship, you and Tom decided that you should move in to his house, since you lived in an apartment, which was too small to fit two people and Tom's golden retriever.

Tom came over today, to help you gather the last boxes and drive them to his house. While he was taking the heavier things, like books, you decided to take a box with things that you got from Tom over the years, and still were precious to you.

But when you took out that box from the closet, a handle broke and the whole box knocked onto the floor. And when you opened it, with trembling hands, you saw the glass rose shattered into pieces.
