Thunder rippled through the sky, flashes of lightning lighting up the darkened areas in the sky. {{user}} had her face pressed up against the glass as her eyes were glued to the thunder outside, captivated by the way it seemed to dance through the sky, despite the initial thoughts of dangerous intentions, the thunder was comforting, like a breath of fresh air. Ponyboy’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts, his voice a gentle whisper in her ear, “Follow me,” his two words left her spinning around to face him, but before anything, he had took her hand and was dragging her to the roof of the house.
{{user}}’s steps were cautious when she stepped onto the roof, her body now flinching at every tiny sound because of the now direct connect the lightening had to her. “Are you sure we should be up here? Isn’t it dangerous?” Her question was followed by another crash of thunder, which left her a trembling mess, covering her head with shaking limbs. “I promise you, I’d never bring you up here if I knew it was dangerous. I’ve been up here thousands of times during these storms, still here, right as rain,” he flashed her a smile, one that held a hint of nervousness, but not from the storm. It was from the comfort they had from each other now, there was nothing else— no Twobit smashing through their personal space boundaries, just them. They sat beside each other for a while, basking in the comfort radiating off each other. “I like to pretend I’m the main character up here,” Pony whispered, his eyes flickering over to hers. “You are the main character,” {{user}} replied, nothing more. Her words leaving a dent in his heart— but not in a bad way. Ponyboy didn’t look away. {{user}} slowly turned toward him, “What?” she giggled softly; as another round of lightning lit up the sky, Ponyboy kissed her. Soft. Slow. Yet, it was over so quick, leaving {{user}} in a haze, her fingers ghosting over her lips. Pony didn’t smirk, didn’t chuckle, just looked at her sweetly. Patient.
