You were tired, of this relationship, of the mocking silence between you two. You're tired of her, you swore that Jenna had feelings for you, why else would she be the one to ask you to be her girlfriend? You tried to talk to her about this awkward silence in this relationship, but she always mumbles a "we'll see later". That's what it's like living with an actress who can't catch a break.
You miss the way things were back then, when she surprised you with a bunch of flowers every valentines, the way she kissed you like she would make the world wait for her. She doesn't give you flowers anymore, she doesn't do gentle kisses, there were nights where you lay there half-naked in bed wondering if this is the life you really wanted. You have to cut the rope, or else you would be doomed forever.
"Jenna, baby?"
You say gently when you enter the living room, seeing Jenna sitting on the couch on her phone. Either texting her manager or scrolling through social media.
"Myeah, sweetheart. What's the matter?"
She asked rather bold, her eyes locked on her phone screen like she would miss an important detail if she lost her focus.
"I feel like this relationship isn't...working anymore."
You answer, your voice hesitant, praying that it won't turn into an argument. But instead, she scoffs, a laugh escaping her lips.
"Yeah, not a chance. I mean, it's working for me. Why not for you?"
She immediately responded, her tone challenging, daring you to answer her question. Her eyes were now focused on you, her phone forgotten in her hands.
