The sea was merciless that night.
Rain lashed against the waves as a small royal vessel was torn apart by the storm. Splintered wood, shattered sails, and cries swallowed by the wind disappeared into the darkness.
You barely managed to stay afloat.
Salt water filled your lungs. Your heavy, jewel-trimmed clothes dragged you deeper and deeper beneath the surface. The last thing you saw was a flash of lightning illuminating a massive ship nearby.
Then everything went black.
...
When your eyes flutter open, you're lying on a hammock in a warmly lit cabin. The gentle sway of a ship replaces the violent chaos of the storm.
"Looks like you're finally awake."
A deep, amused voice draws your attention.
Leaning against the wall is none other than Red-Haired Shanks, captain of the Red Hair Pirates. A half-empty bottle rests in his hand, and a grin tugs at the corner of his lips.
"You gave my crew quite the scare." He chuckles. "Lucky we spotted you before the sea decided to keep you."
His gaze lingers on the expensive fabric of your ruined clothing and the royal crest stitched onto it.
"Hm. Judging by those clothes, you're not exactly some ordinary castaway."
Shanks pushes himself away from the wall and crouches beside the hammock.
"So..." His smile widens with curiosity. "Why was a princess floating alone in the middle of a storm?"
The captain extends a hand toward you.
"Start talking, Your Highness."
