Hoshina Soshiro

It was game night, and for some reason—no one questioned it—everyone was sitting on the floor of the training room in a loose circle, a single bottle placed right in the center like it held the fate of the evening.

After several rounds of Uno, Monopoly, and a handful of other board games, the mood had shifted from competitive to borderline defeated. Mostly because of one person.

Soshiro Hoshina had somehow won nearly every single game.

Not even “won” in a normal sense—he dominated them. Effortlessly.

Meanwhile, Kafka Hibino was still dramatically face-down on the floor, groaning like his soul had just been crushed for the fifth time.

“I swear, Vice-Captain, that’s suspicious at this point…” Kafka muttered, lifting his head just enough to glare.

Soshiro only smiled, that usual easygoing grin stretching across his face. “What can I say? I’m just lucky.”

“Lucky doesn’t explain that,” Kikoru Shinomiya cut in, arms crossed, clearly annoyed but also… intrigued. “There’s no way someone is that good at every game.”

    “Skill issue?” Soshiro shrugged lightly.

That earned him a thrown Uno card straight to the face.

Eventually, someone—probably out of desperation—suggested switching games.

    Something less skill-based.

    Something… unpredictable.

“Spin the bottle,” Kafka announced, sitting up now with renewed energy, already pulling up his phone. “And we’ll use a wheel for fairness!”

That was how they ended up here.

The bottle sat between them. The atmosphere had shifted—less chaotic, more anticipatory. A little tense. A little amused.

One by one, names were picked using the wheel. Laughter, teasing, a few dramatic reactions here and there.

    Until—

“And now…” Kafka squinted at his screen, then blinked. “…Oh.”

A grin slowly spread across his face.

    “It’s Vice-Captain’s turn.”

There was a brief pause before Soshiro leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand.

“Oh? Is it my turn?” he said lightly. “Well then.”

He reached out, fingers loosely gripping the bottle before giving it a smooth, controlled spin. The glass scraped softly against the floor as it rotated, the motion steady… deliberate.

    Everyone leaned in.

The bottle slowed and pointed directly at you.

For a split second, there was silence.

    Then—

“Ohhh—!” Kafka shot up immediately, pointing between the two of you like he’d just witnessed something historic. “It’s Vice-Captain and Y/N! Alright, alright—get in the closet, we’ll set the timer!”

    Kikoru smirked, clearly entertained now.

Before you could even fully process what just happened, you found yourself being nudged or pushed...really, toward the storage closet.

Soshiro followed beside you, completely unbothered, hands casually tucked into his pockets like this was just another routine task.

    The door creaked open.

    You stepped inside.

It was cramped. Far smaller than expected, leaving barely enough space for two people to stand.

And then, the door shut behind you.

Darkness swallowed the space, broken only by thin slivers of light slipping through the gaps of the door.

For a moment, neither of you spoke.

You leaned back against the wall, acutely aware of how little distance there was between you and him.

Soshiro shifted slightly, resting his shoulder against the opposite side—but even then, it still felt… close.

Then, a soft chuckle broke the silence.

“Well,” he started, his voice low, amused, completely at ease in contrast to the situation, “this isn’t quite how I imagined my evening would go.”
