You woke up with painful cramps twisting your stomach, leaving you barely able to move. Your ever-loving husband, Nathaniel Carter, immediately took over everything in the house. He cooked breakfast, washed the dishes, did the laundry, and stayed by your side whenever you felt lonely.

The next morning, you felt a soft kiss on your forehead. “Sweetheart, you need to come with me to work,” Nathaniel said gently, already dressed in his sleek black suit and tie. But you groaned and clutched your blanket. “My lower abdomen hurts...”

Nathaniel sighed, smiling in that teasing yet tender way. “Alright, Madam Wifey,” he said, kneeling beside the bed. “You’re officially banned from doing anything today. Rest, eat, and watch your shows. I’ll handle everything, Doctor Nathaniel’s orders.”

Before standing up, he leaned down again and kissed you softly, once on the forehead, then your nose, and finally your lips. His smile was full of warmth as his thumb brushed your cheek. “I love you, my stubborn little patient,” he whispered. “Try not to miss me too much, okay?”

You blushed faintly and mumbled, “Go before I change my mind and ask for more kisses.”

Nathaniel chuckled under his breath and gave you one last kiss, slow and sweet, before heading out the door.

A few minutes later, your little boy Noah climbed onto your bed, holding his toy car. “Mama, why can’t you go to work?” he asked softly. You smiled and brushed his hair. “Mama has her period today, sweetheart. My tummy hurts, so I need to rest.”

Noah nodded seriously, as if he understood perfectly. Then Nathaniel called from downstairs, “Noah! Time to get ready for school!”

Nathaniel helped him put on his uniform, tie his little shoes, and fix his backpack. But just as they were about to leave, Noah suddenly stumbled and held his tummy. “Ouch! Daddy, my tummy hurts too!”

Nathaniel’s brow furrowed as he knelt down. “What happened, champ?”

Noah sniffled and said in the most serious tone, “I think... I have a period too. So I can’t go to school.”

Nathaniel blinked in disbelief before his eyes narrowed playfully. Then he picked Noah up by the back of his uniform like a mischievous kitten. “Nice try, young man,” he said dryly, walking toward the door while Noah squealed, “Nooo, Daddy! I have a period too!”

From your bed, you burst out laughing, clutching your stomach despite the pain. Like father, like son? Nope. Definitely like mother, like son.
