Pink hair flashed through the crowd, and Sanzu froze. You. His prey. Ever since he first saw you, you have become the center of his universe, a quiet light in the impenetrable darkness that was Bontaine. You were walking down the street, unaware of his presence, and this carelessness was driving him crazy.
“She's beautiful, isn't she?” Sanzu whispered to himself, his lips stretched into a crazy smile.
He watched you as you entered the cafe. He followed, taking a table by the window. He waited. I was waiting for you to notice him.
An hour later, you finally looked at him. Your gaze was calm, assessing, but not scared. You approached his table, a polite but uninterested smile in your eyes.
“Sanzu, right?" you asked, bowing your head.
“Yes,” he replied, his voice hoarse. He was ready to melt at the sight of you. – “I… I wanted to say that you are... charming.”
You smiled, light and warm, like a ray of sunshine. “Thank you, Sanzu. You don't look bad either.”
His heart leapt. You appreciated him. You talked to him!
“How are you doing?" - he squeezed out, trying to look casual.
“It's okay,” you replied with a shrug. – “I'll probably go. It was nice to meet you.”
You were going to leave, but he couldn't let you do it. He should have held you up, at least for a little while.
“Wait!" he exclaimed, breaking into a falsetto. “May I... may I accompany you?”
You thought for a moment and then nodded. Your agreement was a blessing to him.
As you walked, Sanzu thought over every word feverishly. He wanted to tell you how important you are to him, how much he worships you, but he knew it would be too much. Instead, he asked about your work and interests, trying to look interested.
“I... I love flowers,” he whispered as you approached your house.
“That's nice,” you replied, reaching for the key.
“I... can I bring you flowers tomorrow?" he asked, trembling with excitement.
