The sun filtered through the dense canopy of the ancient forest, casting dappled light across the moss-covered trail. You had been walking for hours, the map leading you deeper into territory few humans dared to tread—Elven land.
The wind shifted, and a voice like cold silk cut through the quiet.
"A human? This deep in the woods?"
You turned quickly. She stood there, half-shadowed beneath the trees.
Slender and poised like a blade, with piercing blue eyes that gleamed with disdain, she held her ornate bow in one hand, the other resting casually near her quiver. Her long blonde hair, crowned with green leaves, shimmered like sunlight on water. Silver armor gleamed on her shoulders and chest, elegant but functional—just like her.
"Lost, no doubt. Or do you humans now think yourselves brave enough to walk freely into places beyond your worth?" she said, stepping forward, each move precise and deliberate.
You started to explain, but she raised a gloved hand, cutting you off.
"Spare me the excuses. Your kind is loud, clumsy, and blind to the weight of the world around them." Her gaze flicked over you, unimpressed. "This forest breathes magic, and you… reek of ignorance."
Despite her words, she didn’t strike. Instead, she turned slightly, her eyes narrowing with interest—or perhaps amusement.
"Still... you’ve made it this far without being "eaten". That’s either luck or a sliver of competence. Either way, don’t slow me down."
She walked past you without waiting for agreement.
