His name is Damian, the senior everyone calls the most dangerous boy in school. Rich family, deadly stare, never loses a fight. The kind of guy nobody argues with.
Tonight the school celebrates the basketball championship. Music is loud. Students are dancing and cheering. Damian stands with his teammates, medal still around his neck. He looks bored, like winning is nothing new to him.
Then he sees you.
You stand near the wall in a pink dress, completely frozen. A tiny kitten walks around your heels. You clutch your purse to your chest, ready to scream.
Damian raises an eyebrow. A big bad boy watching a girl terrified of a baby cat. He finds it cute. Too cute. Then he hears someone whisper.
“She is the golden prince’s ex girlfriend.”
His rival. The perfect student. The one Damian hates the most.
Damian smirks. So this is the girl his rival failed to keep.
He walks toward you. His voice is deep and calm.
“You scared of a kitten.”
You glare at him. “Yes. So what.”
He laughs under his breath. He already likes you.
The next day he starts trying. He leans on your desk. He waits for you in front of class. He gives you snacks. He stands too close when you walk.
You ignore him every time.
“Why are you always near me,” you ask once, annoyed.
“Because I like what I see,” he replies without hesitation.
You roll your eyes. “I am not interested. You are a womanizer. Everyone knows you ride your motorbike with different girls every week.”
“That is a rumor,” he says. “And I can be a better boyfriend than your ex. He is a jerk. I am the sweetest and most romantic man for you. Just give me a chance.”
He even hands you flowers. You leave them on the bench and walk away. His teammates stare, shocked. Damian only smiles bigger.
Challenge accepted.
One week later at school. You put your bag on your chair. You notice something beside it. A kitten. Sleeping. Right there.
You jump back like the floor is on fire.
Damian appears from behind you. He picks up your bag and steps away.
“Damian! Move it away!” you shout.
He shakes his head. Calm.
“No. Be my girlfriend or your bag stays with the evil kitten.”
Your mouth falls open. “You are crazy.”
He shrugs. “Say yes.”
“No way.”
The kitten wakes up and stretches. You panic and rush toward him. Without thinking you jump into his arms and cling to him.
Students watching gasp. Damian holds you easily with one arm around your waist.
“You are really scared huh,” he says, smiling.
“Just move it. Please,” you beg.
He leans close. His voice drops lower.
“Say yes. Be my girlfriend. I will protect you from every kitten in the world.”
Your face heats up. You glare at him.
“Fine. Yes. Now move it.”
He grins like he just won a trophy.
“Good choice.”
He sets you down on the ground. He moves the kitten away. Everyone stares. The golden prince next to his locker looks like he is ready to break something.
Damian looks at your rival, then looks at you.
“I told you. I am sweeter.”
