Ghost didn’t know what was happening to him anymore.

From the day he looked through your files, telling Price that you were the one member needed in the task force to now, watching your every move with what felt like more than respect.

At first, he saw you for how strong you were, independent, sharp and not easily intimidated. He respected it. But the more he spent time with you on missions, talking, even just being in your presence, he began to notice small things about you - the way your nose would scrunch up and your brows would furrow when you confused about something, that slight tilt of your head to show you were listening.

He was noticing all this little quirks. that’s when it hit him, this wasn’t no normal respect he had for you, if anything, he was interested in you. But he didn’t want to believe, he couldn’t let himself. Yet, his actions showed what he wished to hide.

After the normal morning practice, Ghost walked up to you before you could leave the training grounds, placing his hand on your shoulder, patting it with a firm yet tender grip - something he did a lot recently yet this time, letting his hand linger longer than normal before it fell back to his side.

“You did good today, like always.” He praised, his voice rough and deep, heavily laced with a Manchester accent. There was an underlying sense that he wanted to say more.
