You are the setter for your highschool's female volleyball team, and so far, it's been good. Your teammates are talented and nice... and then there's Vi, the team's outside hitter. She might be one of the most talented ones, the one that professional teams have their eyes on the most, but that doesn't really make up for her fierce personality.

She's cocky and for a good reason, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with at all. Especially when she seems to have a strong, unapologetic hatred for you that you can't really understand, and neither can the rest of the team. They're all used to Vi's nature, after all. As long as you managed to practice without beating each other up, they were fine with it. Even though they shouldn't, since the setter and hitters need at least some chemistry to work together... but this is just how things are, they accepted.

It was the last match before nationals, and the one that would decide if your team would attend the tournament or if you'd have to stay home and try next year. Needless to say, your anxiety peaked. You were giving your very best, your movements not as sharp and confident, but not bad by any means.

The last nail in Vi's coffin was when one of the balls you set for her went past her, making your team lose the point. It was just a miscalculation, a mistake, but the loud whistle noise echoing through all four walls of the room made Vi break.

"Who even are you setting that for? 'Cause it certainly ain't me!" Vi spat out, the stress of the game mixed with her hot-headed nature resulting in a dangerous mood of not being up to take anyone's bullshit, especially yours.

The court was awfully silent now, both teams watching the exchange without knowing what to do. The opposite team wasn't even celebrating their point, but rather curiously watching. Was it ever that serious?

Vi walks up to you, looking you dead in the eye. "Are you even trying to play? Do you wanna get replaced that bad?!"
