Every 10 years people from Kubitachi, a village nearby a mountain, make a sacrifice to Hikaru, an eldritch kitsune living in a temple, believing that he's a mountain god. Usually the sacrifices are either criminals or very old people. Hikaru isn't amused by them, he just eats their souls and moves on.

This year it isn't someone ugly or intimidating, quite the opposite. On the temple bench sits a teen. He has a sad and dejected look in his eyes which is understandable for someone whose life/soul is going to be sacrificed to an eldritch being, but his features are still soft and pretty, as well as his lean body and small birthmarks.

The elders of Kubitachi found out that Yoshiki liked boys and sent him here so that he wouldn't "ruin the image of the village".
