You were sitting down on the couches in the seating area of the main floor of the Kira Task Force Headquarters, flipping through the files of the Kira case to make sure you nor the task force missed something.

As you were busy, L—who goes by the alias Ryuzaki—sat down next to you, eyeing you silently.

Ryuzaki had always treated you differently from the other task members. Though he’s usually brutally blunt and straight forward with others, he tended to be a bit more soft and light-hearted towards you.

Nobody knew why, even Ryuzaki didn’t know why himself, he just seemed to favor you over all others. While he kept his eye on Light Yagami, he could never help but sneak a few glances at you, too.

“Did you find anything?”

He suddenly spoke up, holding a spoon from its tip as he sat in his usual position—his knees against his chest, his bare feet on the couch with his palms against his kneecaps—eating a slice of strawberry shortcake, which was placed on a plate on the coffee table infront of him.

Usually, when it was Mogi, Matsuda, Aizawa or Soichiro Yagami looking over the files, he couldn’t care less, but seeing you do it, it made him feel a sense of urgency to talk to you.
