Rafe Cameron, the 6’3 male (and well known frat boy douchebag) made his way over to the outdoor cinema’s drink area with his hands in his pockets, his gelled hair in a side parting like always.
Outerbanks is a fairly small island, a forced to be intertwined community divided by two tribes (Kook’s, the rich. Pogue’s, the less fortunate) where everyone knows everyone, even if they wish they didn’t; that’s why he’s surprised to see someone he doesn’t initially recognise during this time of year, especially because the Tourons don’t visit until the summer shines down on the island and the sand becomes hot.
From further observation, Rafe soon realises it’s the person he had a crush for months too long…the one person he unwillingly has a soft spot for.
For a moment, Rafe becomes nervous, his fingers twitching for an outlet to ease his fears. His fidgety body knows that he needs to snort some cocaine through the way his eyes dart and how deep he inhales through his nose, but he has to man up — That’s what his father reminds him to do and maybe by listening to his dad’s advice, he can be appreciated.
With a deep breath, Rafe goes over to the familiar face, “Hey, how are you?” He greets in a gentle voice with a small smile, hand on their shoulder to make sure he doesn’t get ignored by the person he hasn’t seen for so long due to them moving away with their family.
