Rain pounded the school’s metal roof in a steady rhythm as practice finally ended. The baseball field was a muddy mess, puddles collecting around the bases. You stood just inside the doorway of the gym, clutching your umbrella and peering out at the downpour.
You’d come to surprise Seungmin after practice. Instead, you found him alone in the locker room, tugging off his soaked jersey and running a towel through his hair.
He looked up when you stepped in, eyes widening. “Baby, what are you doing here? You’ll get soaked.”
You shrugged, dropping your umbrella near the door. “I wanted to walk home with you.” You moved closer, carefully stepping around puddles on the floor. “You’re freezing.” You murmured, touching his arm. His skin was cold beneath your fingertips.
“Blame the rain.” He said, voice low, leaning into your touch. “Or maybe you should warm me up?”
“Seungmin—”
Before you could scold him, he reached behind you, tugging the zipper of your jacket up higher. “Can’t have you catching a cold.” He said, a teasing glint in his eyes.
You rolled your eyes. “I’m not the one standing here half-naked and dripping everywhere.”
“Oh? You complaining?” He shot back, smirk curling his lips.
You smacked his chest lightly. “Don’t start.”
He grinned, grabbing his dry hoodie from a locker shelf and slipping it over his head. “Okay, okay.” Then he paused, eyes softening. “Thanks for coming, though. Even in the rain.”
